Supply Chain Lean Assessments

BDM’s Supply Chain Lean Assessment is a one or two week project engagement depending on specific client requirements and level of detail. The assessment includes pre-work data analysis, a comprehensive on site assessment, interviews with client processes owners and a published report outlining the comprehensive analysis.  The assessment evaluates the client’s supply chain practices against established polices and procedures and against best industry practices that BDM has both researched and observed across its client base.

The Supply Chain Lean Assessment will evaluate core supply chain processes from customer demand to delivery. The assessment will review strategic alignment with corporate objectives and the metrics used to measure supply chain performance.  It will review the Sales and Planning Process to meet customer demand and the core assets required to support demand for materials and services.  In addition, core supplier management processes will be evaluated to support order fulfillment and delivery.   The operational components of supplier performance management and sub-contracting will be reviewed and a high level overview of the procurement system architecture and supply chain organizational design will also be evaluated. Finally, inventory management and logistics practices will be examined to review their support of the supply chain processes.

The primary purpose of the assessment is to identify continuous improvement practices and cost reduction opportunities for the client.  BDM’s Supply Chain Lean Assessment is a value add process and has successfully helped clients reduce costs by 15-20% in their operations.
